Here`s a cool trick i learned a while back. when it comes to tires, solid white letters are cool, and pretty simple to paint, but what happens when you have outline white letters? well  heres a good tip on how to take care of them.....

Here is what you will need.  Some acrylic white paint, it has to be acrylic though, if you use regular model paints they WILL NOT dry on the tire! you`ll need a brush, and an old CD.

Apply a strip of paint about an inch wide, try to make it as thin as you can, but wet enough to transfer to the tire.

Next take your tire and gently touch it to the painted surface, until all the letters are outlined in white. be very gentle with this, a light touch goes a long way.

you may have to go over it a few times to get maximum coverage, but here is the end result. find some old tires to practice on, and soon enough you will be an expert at it!

Easy "8 Ball" shifter. heres a really easy how to, that will spice up almost any model interior.

Heres what you will need, some straight pins with large heads, toothpicks, or anything you can find that is round to add the dots to the ball.

put you pin in a clamp, or even a piece of foam to hold it steady. for the large white dot i am using a dremel grinder, its a decent size to make the first big white dot. toothpicks cut down will finish the rest.

once you have the large white dot, all you have to do is make two smaller black ones, and then inside of them, two smaller white ones.

let it dry just a bit before you start on the black.

now you have the basic "8" shape, all you have to do now is add the white dots inside the black ones.  sorry for the poor pic quality, my camera isnt the greatest.......

now you have an "8 ball" shifter . you can bend the shaft of the pin to fit just about anywhere. after this dries i usually dunk them in some "future" floor polish to clear coat them. the  last pic shows it in place on a 41 chevy pickup floor pan....

i hope this was helpful, the main thing is to have fun! dont forget, you can use this trick for any ball, if you want a "9" do a 9.......you cant go wrong. i havent tried doing any of the "striped" balls yet, look for that coming soon. as always, thanks for stopping by and looking!
